Kúla
2025
KÚLA is an ephemeral, interactive fragrance installation that explores scent through spatial and tactile design. Developed in collaboration with MANE, the project is based on a specific fragrance provided by MANE, whose core concept centers on fragments.
Building on this concept, KÚLA translates the structure of fragrance into space. The aim of the design was to combine the idea of fragments with the feeling of nostalgia. Top, heart, and base notes are treated as individual fragments that appear, dissolve, and overlap over time, mirroring both the way perfume unfolds on the skin and how memories surface in non-linear ways.
Bubble wrap is used as a tool to merge the two central concepts of the project: fragments and nostalgia. The act of popping releases the fragrance in small, fleeting bursts, mirroring how scent is experienced in fragments over time, while simultaneously evoking a familiar, nostalgic gesture rooted in childhood memory.
Building from this dual function, the layout exploration evolved around translating bubble wrap into a spatial element.
