Located in the serene neighborhood of Sarrià, Barcelona, Raw to Refined reimagines a two-story residential house as a harmonious home and studio for the renowned designer and sculptor, Isamu Noguchi.
Envisioned as a space that mirrors the sculptor ’s creative journey, this renovation transforms the house into an interplay of light, raw textures and refined finishes, celebrating the evolution of form and artistry.

The spatial narrative unfolds in four chapters: the ground floor embraces work and gathering, while the upper level is devoted to rest and quiet retreat.
Strategic architectural interventions redefine the structure, introducing new openings that invite natural light deep into the home. This gesture extends the project’s concept beyond interior design, merging structure and space into a single narrative of transformation.
Materiality becomes the project’s language of expression; each surface and texture speaks to the sculptor’s process of transformation.
From the raw tactility of stone to the soft sheen of polished finishes, the house becomes a living dialogue between nature and craft, light and material, rawness and refinement.
